Just like with human palliative and hospice services, veterinary social workers play a big role in supporting families and patients through terminal illness and end-of-life. We are certified by the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care to provide advocacy and support to pet owners during the most difficult part of loving a pet. We provide thoughtful facilitation of goals of care discussions and end of life planning including creating an advance care directive just as you would in human healthcare.

Each person has their own unique spiritual and cultural values that must be considered and honored during end of life and we are committed to meeting people where they are. Every pet and their humans deserve the best possible goodbye.

Pet loss and grief support services are available for those in need of a safe, non-judgmental space to explore their experience and feelings after loss or in anticipation of loss.

Please note: this service is not psychotherapy. However, referrals can be made to therapists for ongoing mental health support.
