Our Services

  • Integrated Support

Having a veterinary social worker as part of the interdisciplinary team at your clinic, shelter, or rescue can make a world of difference for your employees and clients.

Whether it's being a liaison between staff and clients, providing crisis intervention in times of high acuity, creative problem solving, or supporting your team through critical incident debriefing, we can offer an array of services to improve outcomes, strengthen relationships, and promote positive and supportive work environments.

Please reach out to discuss receiving services for your clinic.

  • Palliative, Hospice & Grief Support

Just like with human palliative and hospice services, veterinary social workers play a big role in supporting families and patients through terminal illness and facing end-of-life. We are certified by the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care to provide advocacy and support to pet owners during the most difficult part of loving a pet. We provide thoughtful facilitation of goals of care discussions and end of life planning including creating an advance care directive just as you would in human healthcare.

For anyone in need of a safe, supportive space to process grief, we offer individual counseling sessions focused on how to live after loss.

  • Wellness Support for Teams

Interested in wellness sessions or team building activities for your staff? Need to have tough conversations but don’t know where to start? We can help boost morale, foster stronger connections among staff, and promote better mental health and wellbeing with services provided by a licensed mental health professional. Topics can include mindfulness and stress management, conflict resolution and communication skills, bridging generational gaps, and more.

Whatever conflicts or barriers are getting in the way of a cohesive team, we can help!

  • Mental Health & Coaching

Working in healthcare is a unique experience that many people outside of the industry simply don’t understand. Coaching services are available for those looking for short-term support with the unique challenges that come with having a career in veterinary medicine. You don’t have to carry the burden alone.

  • Education & Community Engagement

Bay Area Veterinary Social Work provides education and advocacy in the form of presentations and speaking engagements for audiences of any size. We offer a wide variety of topics and can customize content based on the needs or desires of the audience. We’ve spoken at VMX and have created continuing education courses for those looking to further their knowledge and collect CEUs. Message us for more!
